thank you daddy

I got a phone call yesterday afternoon and when I picked it up, a familiar voice said, "Thank you, daddy.." it’s my dear Amy I  was quite surprised that I asked what she thanked me for. She said for the stuff I bought for her online at gymboree. Her mom said she was so eager to put them on that she couldn’t wait for daddy to return home to dress them.
So here comes our proudly presented – Amy! She’s wearing her Mariners skirt and gymboree shoes and also her favorite, the gymboree shopping bag

House update

We have found the house we want, but right before we are about to submit the offer……. no, it’s not what you think, the house is still there. It’s that we found out we are far from selling our home:( The offer letter would have a standard clause of listing current house within 5 days after acceptance of offer letter in order to let the contigency clause valid. So we have to hold off submitting the offer and hurry up cleaning up the house.
Sigh.. it’s so hard to remove the grouts that we put in when we bought the house:( 1 day of work only cleaned about 1/5 of them:( And we bought a lot of big big plastic containers (boxes) from HomeDepot to put Amy’s toys in… You never know how much you have invested in your kid until the time to clean up them…
So we’ll probably give up the plan to travel to Tofino in long weekend and rather let Amy have some play time in Kayak Point with other kids that she knew from a Chinese learning group. We can use the 1 day saved on cleaning up house.
Got 2 estimates already for the painting job. and tomorrow will be our last candidate. After that, we can pick a bid and then go ahead with re-painting job. Then if necessary, we need to hire a storage place (which is very near, just across the street from our community). Then, if the house we are interested is still available, make an offer and there we go! I think our offer would have no problem of being accepted since it’s a new construction and we will offer full price:)
Then, life would become stretchful. But before then, enjoy life as much as we can!

House candidate found!

After endless trips, today my wife finally found a house that she likes She said all criteria meet my requirement and I’m super happy to hear that! I’m going to check it out after work and go with agent to the site on Saturday….

of course, nothing fixed yet. Subject to *my* inspection and if nobody bids it earlier than Saturday…

My dream… only meters away now!

Exhausing road to a new house

That our house market value has appreciated quite decently only means the house we want to upgrade to is even more expensive.

I want to make a move to a decent house with good individual schools. And hopefully don’t have to move again until Amy goes to college or I move out of Seattle. We have looked quite a few houses but they are all out of budget even though I have raised budget to overstretch level And my picky wife is hard to please too She doesn’t like any house that I like

It’s so frustrating and tiring. Now I give up searching and let my wife deal with this. I just set budget limit

amazing Amy

Today Amy and her mom went to library and mom was doing self-checkout. Amy went to the libarian and asked libarian, "Can I get some stamp?" "Sure, which one do you like?", the libarian said with a smile. Amy said, "Can I get both?" The libarian happily stamped both her hands

This might not be surprising for an American but for Amy, English is just her second language. At least I talked 99% Chinese to her. I am just amazed by her English level and have absolutely no doubt that she would have no language problem when she went to preschool this September.

I am so proud of you Amy.

The best moments of my life

The best moments of my life.. it actually happens daily now. My Amy would run to me and hug me and then cries out loud:"Daddy, I love you!" And I would open my arms waiting for her to jump into my arms. She would then press her cheek on mine (this is her way of kiss)

Sweet moments, even given me a million dollar, I would’t exchange it…
